The Tayabas City Local Government's ongoing efforts to combat environmentally harmful single-use plastic materials are demonstrated by this recognition. Additionally, it emphasized Mayor Piwa Lim's support for safeguarding, maintaining, and sustaining the city's natural resources and the environment while reaping its benefits.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) CALABARZON presented the award on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Environment Summit "Climate Action: Fostering Community Spirit, Caring for the Environment" at the Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City.
Melvin Rada, the City Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Jerdelyn Tabi, the head of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Unit, and Erel Morales attended the ceremony to accept the award on behalf of Mayor Piwa Lim.
The keynote speaker at the event was DENR Secretary Attorney Juan Miguel T. Cuna, along with other high-ranking officials of the agency.
